Bedouin Records

Bedouin Records is an independent music house, art, and cinema-leaning recording label founded in the United Arab Emirates (and subsequently relocated to Berlin via Bangkok) by conceptual artist Salem Rashid (Thomas Skourlis). The label therefore draws from pan-continental influences and has been continually testing the sonic boundaries of electronic music ever since its inception in 2014. From the distorted analog frenzy of Hieroglyphic Being & John Heckle, the low-slung breaks of Dez Williams and the debilitating circuit bent noise of Merzbow, the music released through Bedouin is never for the faint hearted. Techno, Noise, Gabber, Industrial, Electro, EBM, Grime and Hardcore are all fused on a curatorial level, whilst the dark, gloomy and jagged aesthetic remains a constant. The label has released over 50 albums on formats ranging from cassette and vinyl to digital, and includes ground-breaking artists such as Merzbow, Tzusing, Xosar, Aquarian, Osheyack, Hieroglyphic Being, Constantine Skourlis, and Jigga on its roster. Bedouin has also collaborated with visual artists such as Kosuke Kawamura, Cleon Peterson, Zeinab Al Hashemi, Usugrow, and Yuichiro Tamaki. On top of a busy release schedule, Bedouin adopts an interdisciplinary and diversification strategy by providing scoring services for film, theatre and the performing arts. The label furthermore directs festivals, art installations, exhibitions, fashion shows and immersive experiential events throughout the world.
