CAMPARI “RED PASSION” CAMPAIGN
Marking its first major brand reimagination in more than 20 years, Campari unveiled an immersive global campaign uniting visionary artists, creators and tastemakers in a bold expression of creativity, emotion and self-expression. The digital experience showcased Campari’s enduring connection to culture and the creative world, highlighting how passion inspires people to move beyond convention and transform instinct into unforgettable creation. The campaign featured pioneering talents across bartending, dance, filmmaking and music, including Monica Berg, MJ Harper, Margot Bowman and Bendik Giske, each bringing their own interpretation of Red Passion to life through striking visuals, evocative storytelling and cinematic performance. Rooted in Campari’s rich Italian heritage and longstanding influence across art, film and cocktail culture, the campaign underscored the brand’s commitment to championing boundary-pushing creativity. Through dynamic films, sensory imagery and emotionally charged moments, Campari invited audiences to embrace the force within them and follow their own path to creation. The initiative signaled Campari’s evolving vision for culture, where passion becomes art, movement and inspiration.
AUDIO STRATEGY
For Campari’s first re-brand in over 20 years, Syncsmith developed a cinematic audio strategy that fused the brands rich legacy with orchestral elegance and forward-facing electronic production to embody the brand’s evolving vision of Red Passion.
Working closely with director Matt Lambert, we created an immersive sonic world built around bespoke composition, hyper-real sound design and fluid integration between music and movement.
Organic instrumentation, manipulated live saxophone recordings, granular textures, flowing arepeggiated lines and custom-designed sonic elements were layered to blur the line between score and sound design, creating a visceral sensory experience that mirrored the campaign’s bold visual language and deepened the emotional impact of each film across audiences.
SOUND DESIGN
Syncsmith’s Sound Design approach centred on creating a hyper-realistic sensory environment that amplified the emotional intensity and tactile detail of the campaign.
To capture an unprecedented level of sonic intimacy, the team and sound designer Ian Miller went to extreme lengths - freezing contact microphones inside ice blocks, weaving microphones through layers of dancers’ fabric and capturing bespoke recordings directly on set. Every sonic element, from shattering ice and pouring liquid to movement and breath, was manipulated and layered to feel immersive, cinematic and larger than life.
Blending synthesized textures, acoustic recordings and processed atmospherics, the sound design became inseparable from the musical composition itself, creating a visceral sonic narrative that heightened the campaign’s emotionally charged world.
BESPOKE COMPOSITION
For the campaign’s main score, the composer Chevel developed a bespoke score that balanced Campari’s rich heritage with a bold, forward-facing sonic identity.
Inspired by cinematic electronic music and rooted in emotional storytelling, the composition fused orchestral percussion, analogue-inspired synthesis, granular textures and evolving arpeggiated motifs to create a sense of tension, movement and release. The composition entitled “Bromine” later went on to be released by Fabric’s label Houndstooth.
Built around psychoacoustic techniques and immersive spatial design, the score was crafted to mirror the flow and intensity of Red Passion itself. Organic recordings, atmospheric layers and manipulated instrumentation combined to produce a luxurious yet visceral sound palette, creating a powerful emotional throughline that unified each film within the wider campaign narrative.
THE PASSIONERS
We created bespoke sonic worlds for each of the protagonists ensuring the inner passions of the mixologist, filmmaker, dancer and musician were communicated.
